Gross: Congress looks for a “backdoor opening” on abortion

21 Jan

Okay so I guess I’m going to have to talk about abortion again, since our nation’s legislators think this is a “top priority” issue (DEBT CEILING).

Here’s the genius plan Republicans are coming up with this time to annoy you into not killing your baby: more paperwork.

The law struck a compromise that divided abortion opponents and displeased most abortion rights supporters. It allowed plans in the exchanges to cover abortions, provided they collect a separate premium from policy holders and that money is kept apart from federal subsidies received by the plans.

Nonetheless, many abortion opponents saw a backdoor opening (HAHA, BUTT SEX AND REPUBLICANS -ed.). “We are setting up a funding scheme to pay for abortions,” said Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., sponsor of one of the two bills introduced Thursday.

Both bills would forbid plans in the exchanges from covering abortions. However, women could purchase a separate policy to cover the procedure.

This is their actual legislative work right now, trying to force women to file even more paperwork for a whole separate policy in case they might want to accidentally need an abortion one day. This is what they put down on the little time cards they have to fill out to get their monies from the taxpayers. But we have to fight the good fight, right?

Leaders, working on the assumption that the repeal bill will not become law, have set no timeline.

Let’s just take a moment to ponder the idea of Congressional leaders who work on the assumption that their work will fail.

Incidentally, here is another genius conclusion from your neighborhood Kansas anti-abortion goblin:

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, a Wichita, Kan.-based anti-abortion group, hailed the prosecution of [scum of humanity fake PA abortion doctor Kermit] Gosnell and offered a $25,000 reward to any whistleblower providing information leading to an abortion provider’s conviction.

“As shocking as this case is, it is in no way an anomaly,” Newman said. “Shoddy and illegal practices characterize the abortion industry in America.”

McGoblin’s conclusion is that illegal practices in the abortion industry are harmful. WAIT. So, actually we are all on the same page. Illegal abortion practices suck. People get hurt. END ILLEGAL ABORTION.

We’re all good now.
